Flughafen Genf

Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners, 2021

The east wing of Geneva Airport has been renovated since 2011 in order to increase passenger comfort and the general flexibility of the airport. It is scheduled to open in autumn 2021. As part of this important step for the region, the east wing will be equipped with special baffles - these were specially developed for the project by Metalit and KST AG. These are one-piece baffles with cooling and an edged front side. They are unique and inexpensive to produce. The requirements of Geneva Airport are optimally met thanks to their high cooling capacity and acoustic effectiveness. The linear design of the baffles also makes the room appear longer and creates a homogeneous image.

A total of 1,082 modules with 15,373 baffles were installed. 19 different baffle lengths with a total of 52,000 running metres were used. In addition to the different lengths, there are also two baffle heights (150 mm, 220 mm), while the width of 35 mm is uniform. All of the aprons have the same colour - RAL 9005, while the baffles themselves shine in seven different RAL colors - one color per gate for better orientation within the east wing. Another special feature is that all baffle modules are earthquake-proof
