TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY OF INNSBRUCK

atp architekten ingenieure/Innsbruck, 2014

The Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture has been part of the University of Innsbruck since 1969. The more than 40-year-old building complex of the Technology campus located in the Hötting district of Innsbruck has now undergone a general refurbishment. The EU-wide competition for the project was won in 2009 by ATP architekten ingenieure, Innsbruck. Under the general project management of architect Paul Ohnmacht, both the architecture building and the civil engineering faculty housed in the high-rise building were updated to the latest technical standards.

As in the original building, FURAL metal ceiling tiles contribute to an optimum teaching and learning environment again in the modernised building. More than 10,000 m² of acoustic long span tiles in RAL 9010 were installed, setting a neutral contrast to the various colours of the floor coverings. All areas, including corridors, offices, the auditorium and lecture rooms, were fitted with tiles in perforation Rg 2,5 - 16 %. The Mechatronics department was visually demarcated with the striking Qg 4,0 - 33 % square perforations.
