La Serenissima Milan
Park Associati/Milan, 2012/13
Particularly high demands were made of acoustics and flexibility of the metal ceiling by the project at Morgan Stanley in Milan, which went by the name of La Serenissima. Modernisation of the Palazzo Serbelloni - built in neo-classical style in 1793 - was led by the team of architects at Park Associati.
The required longitudinal sound insulation was achieved by separating the tiles horizontally with plasterboard and mineral wool. The FURAL strip grid system employed here ensured maximum possible flexibility in the service phase. One feature of the ceiling solution is that the long-span tiles have been placed on the strip grid at the longitudinal ribs.
