EMMI Headquarters Lucerne

Rüssli Architekten AG/Lucerne, 2015

With the “Shades of Milk” project, the Rüssli Architekten AG architectural office transformed the former “Butter Centre” into the new Group headquarters of milk processing company EMMI. The Butter Centre was used by EMMI as a production facility for milk and dairy products. The new building has created an urban figure and combination that allows both commercial use by EMMI and private residential use. The new EMMI company headquarters presents itself as a solitary building fronted by a piazza. In line with the title of the competition, “Shades of Milk”, the architectural concept juggled the basic white tone with natural shades of milk products, such as cappuccino or macchiato.

The cooled floating ceilings ensure an optimum room temperature even on hot summer days. A total of 980 m² of FURAL floating ceilings were installed in the office rooms, in perforation Rg 2,5 - 16 % and colour RAL 9010 with integrated cooling coils. These multi-part floating ceilings therefore ensure both optimum room acoustics and a pleasant working environment.
