DC Flats Vienna – High-Quality Ceiling Solutions for Urban Living
With the new residential development “DC Flats” in Vienna’s Donaustadt district, a striking architectural landmark has been created in Donau City. The high-rise residential building comprises over 300 rental apartments and combines urban quality of life with access to nearby natural recreation areas.
Architecture with a Cosmopolitan Ambition
Since 2025, the elegant residential tower has shaped the cityscape of Donau City with its calm yet dynamic appearance. As a confident conclusion to the surrounding development, it integrates harmoniously into the established “Global Village.”
The project’s consistent commitment to sustainability is reflected in green roofs, photovoltaic systems, and modern cooling ceiling systems that ensure a comfortable indoor climate.
KLS floating ceiling in the Lobby – Design and Function in Harmony
KLS floating ceiling by Fural was installed in the ground-floor lobby. The selected perforation Rg 0.7 mm – 4%, finished in powder coating RAL 8022, was implemented over an area of 45 m². The decision to use this system was made by the architectural firm Jabornegg & Pálffy.
“Intensive preparatory work as well as detailed coordination and approval processes with the architects were crucial to achieving the perfect result,” emphasizes Thomas Reingruber, internal project manager at Fural.
The final outcome impresses with its high-quality appearance, acoustic effectiveness, and precision in execution.
Expanded Metal Ceilings for High-Traffic Areas
In all corridors and circulation areas—from the ground floor up to the 17th floor—the client opted for expanded metal ceilings by Fural. Covering an area of more than 2,600 m², the KLG corridor ceiling system, Parzifal design (mesh 22 × 12 × 2 × 1.5 mm, without fleece), was installed.
This solution is regarded as particularly robust and functional while maintaining a high design standard—making it ideal for heavily frequented ceiling areas.
A special highlight was the custom fabrication of trapezoidal expanded metal panels, which precisely met the architectural requirements and further enhanced the overall visual concept.
Successful Collaboration as the Key to the Result
The high quality of execution is the result of close and constructive cooperation among all project partners. The company Amisola, responsible for site supervision, expressed particular satisfaction with the final result and the professional project handling.
With its floating ceiling and expanded metal ceilings, Fural made a significant contribution to the functional, aesthetic, and sustainable quality of DC Flats—a reference project that convincingly combines modern living with sophisticated ceiling solutions.
