4-star superior Hotel AMERON Zürich Bellerive au Lac

Monoplan AG/Zürich, 2020

On the waterfront of Lake Zurich near the Opera House stands the Hotel Bellerive au Lac. It was built in the 1920s and remodeled by Monoplan AG from 2019 to 2020. The traditional building will reopen its doors in 2021 - as the first AMERON Boutique Hotel. It features a stylish design and its unique location. In addition, it combines an urban lifestyle with Mediterranean flair. Not only the 61 rooms and suites shine in new splendor, but also the conference rooms, the restaurant and the bar. This has the potential to become a trendy address for aperitifs (after work) in Zurich.

Studio Bellerive is the fusion of the restaurant and the bar. The name comes from the legendary Zurich film studio, located in the former tennis halls of the Hotel Bellerive au Lac since 1953. The restaurant and bar area is equipped with a baffle ceiling by Metalit. This is finished in RAL 8022 and fits ideally into the stylish design of the Bellerive studio. It softens the ceiling design by creating an aesthetically pleasing connection with the ventilation fixtures and hiding the lights cleverly placed between the baffles. In addition to the special appearance, the perforated baffle ceiling also helps to create pleasant room acoustics. Another function of the ceiling is the cooling system integrated into the baffles, which creates a pleasant room climate. In summary, the baffle ceiling meets all the requirements of the Bellerive studio.

In general, baffles are a good choice for architects because they combine many advantages. In the design of baffle ceilings, planners have a wide range of choices and can unfold in terms of design: Starting with the shape (length, height, width), to the composition of the individual baffle elements, to the color - a baffle ceiling offers a high degree of design freedom. It also conceals the ceiling void and creates practical solutions for fixtures or alarm units. In large rooms, it is also possible to specifically control the acoustics by using different perforations in individual areas of the room. The integration of a cooling system provides another significant advantage. In Studio Bellerive, all these aspects of the baffle ceiling have been perfectly implemented.
